The Obi Worldphone SF1 and SJ1.5 models both start at under US$199 but offer capabilities found in more expensive smartphones. The phones use a customized interface, called Obi Lifespeed, which runs on the Android operating system, version Lollipop. With these phones, Obi wants to reach the billion or so users who market analyst firm Creative Strategies predicts will upgrade in the next three years from low-end smartphones to ones with greater functionality....

The Office 365 subscription service costs £79 / $99 per year and grants the user access to a wide variety of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and Publisher. The number of users able to use the same subscription has gone up from 5 to 6 and now allows you to install the applications on an unlimited number of devices with each user able to be signed into five devices at any one time....

The top model – the Find X5 Pro – uses Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It joins the likes of the Samsung S22 series (in the US, at least) and the newly announced Vivo iQoo 9 Pro gaming phone in being one of the first handsets to feature the processor. Meanwhile, the cheaper (but still very much high-end) Find X5 will run on the Snapdragon 888, a chip seen across many devices in 2021....

Google wanted to leverage the capability of high-end Chromebooks by offering a gaming experience on Chrome OS. On 22nd March 2022, Google said it would include an alpha-quality Steam build on Chrome OS for a small set of recently released high-end Chromebooks. The software is available in Chrome OS 14583.0, a dev channel build of the OS. It’s listing it with 16GB of data for the price of 4GB on a Red Extra 16GB plan, which also includes unlimited texts and unlimited minutes for £43 per month (£9 upfront cost). The A8 will be available in three colours: black, gold and orchid grey. Outside the UK a Galaxy A8+ has also been confirmed....

This being part of Sony’s XZ range needs more explaining than when it was simply the Z followed by a number. The XZ1 is a refresh of the XZ but doesn’t replace the XZ Premium, meanwhile the XZ1 Compact is a replacement for the X Compact.
