Fairly recently Netatmo was bought by another French company, Legrand, and has launched an updated version of its thermostat called the Smart Modulating Thermostat. It all sounds a bit serious, but essentially what it means is that it now supports OpenTherm boilers. Put simply, OpenTherm means a boiler can precisely adjust the temperature of your home’s heating by changing its burner’s power. And this, in the long run, saves energy which also saves you money....

As with many online streaming services, Netflix offered a free trial to let you use the service in the hope that you’d love it and keep paying. The company required credit card details to use the free trial and would automatically charge you for the next month after the 30-day period. It’s not clear why the UK has been picked to end the free trial incentive. Maybe Brits were too canny at signing up every month for the free trial with a different email address and then cancelling before the first payment....

There are two reasons for the loss of Netflix subscribers. The first reason is the increased price of the subscription plans. And the second reason is the Netflix password sharing feature. What will the new regulations achieve? There will be tighter regulation over how much electricity an appliance can consume, which will keep consumer bills under control. It’s estimated that this could help people to save up to £75 per year on their electricity bills. The measure is also aimed at reducing the UK’s carbon emissions to meet environmental targets. The Nikon D3300 is based on a 24.2 megapixel sensor (4800 x 1080 pixels), adding an 18 to 55mm kit lens that behaves like 27 to 82.5mm glass on a full frame camera. But take a second look at the Lumia 520 and the picture is considerably more nuanced. This handset retails SIM from for £100 or less. Today I could buy it for £85, in fact. Windows Phone 8 is mature now. A simple and bright interface offering access to all the things most people want in a smartphone: email, Facebook, messaging, Twitter, camera, web browsing… and making calls. That plastic look and construction may lack the pizzazz of some high-end devices, but it is also tough....

The TITAN RTX will be available in late December but we don’t have a concrete date yet. The Titan series of GPUs are traditionally not considered consumer level cards due to their extremely high price tag, but they do usually help to provide a sign of things to come.
